so yup.. i went on divisions with elder goodman this week for a few days.. i learned some new super sweet skills... i found a big mouth billy bass when i was on divisions!! it just made my day to see that cute little bass do its singin and bust some moves!!! classy!! so we got invited to a bday party, so we went.. it was a less active member fam.. but a long story short.. the clown made me go infront of a bajillion people.. and do some STUFF.. dont worry i had the thumbs up ok from the stake pres and bishop that were present.. i must have done good cuz the whole bajiliion people were crackin up.. wait.. i did good or i just looked like a fool... well anyway i took first place and got a prize.. i ended up giving my prize to one of our investigators kids who are super poor, to Lester and Johnathon Guzman... they are a super sweet fam that we contacted my first night here in jalapa.. they even came to church with us.. they are all preped, they dont assist a church, they believe in God, they dont work on sunday, they are married, their awesome and they can read and understand!!! perfect!!! im super stoked for the Guzman fam!! after the clown bday party we took the back road to the next lesson in a little pueblo in the mountains.. it was an adventure.. the question elder briones asked me was.. hey oakey, do you want to take the long lighted paved road way to the next lesson, or do you want to take the dirt short cut in the dark jalapa forest with nun ghosts and quick mud... what kind of question is that?? nun ghost and quick mud!! hollar!! but, and its a big BUT, i did not read the fine text that noted elder briones has never really been on the trail.... but.. ya.. thats all i can tell you.. i dont want you to worry.. im missing a shoe but alive, and i was able to attend the choior practice for ward conference next Sunday.. the bishop asked us to help out... that just kinda tells you of the attendance and talent of the minerva jalapa ward.. sorry i cant send my clown act video to you.. its too big... and im not a super high tec computer dude.. so im thinkin you can just see it when i get home..

hello fam..
well on monday night we had E changes.. and on tuesday night i arrived in minerva jalapa... with elder briones.. this area is outside of the capital.. its super sweet.. its amazing their is clean air and cows and monkeys and a whole bunch of people waiting this message.. its more of a chill area, its not so fast paced, then on Wednesday we had zone conference in zacapa.. we already did alot of service.. we cleaned a whole house.. then we painted a different dudes house!! i love giving hands on service.. hands on, cuz we are always giving spiritual service.. the ward is pretty big for out side the cap.. its a ward of like 80 persons... today was pday.. so we went to a mountain called pino dulce.. we played soccer, threw the football around, Frisbee, cooked a bar bq, jumped on a tramp.. did a little hike, got some turkey feathers for my cowboy hat.... i got attacked by a goose, it bit me several times in the shorts.. but dont worry it didnt do much..... haha... also we got a ride back into jalapa.. its like a hr and 30 min ride through the mountainous mountains... we have a member boy helping us everyday..he is about to leave on his mission.. he is going to Peru.. so we have alot of lessons with member.. he is super prepared.. his mom has been feeding the missonarys for like 10 years.. so he has grown up with missonarys everyday.. his name is jimi.. he is a stud.. elder briones is from utah.. he has 15 months.. his parents are from Ecuador.. so he grew up knowing spanish and engligh... we were automatically friends!!

hello fam.. a new week huh!!
on Wednesday we went to the temple as a zone.. super sweet.. I love the temple.. one area close to the temple is the old area of elder baquiax. so we went to visit for a sec.. we had a lunch appt.. it was his bday also this day.. big 21.. we did some service also this week.. we did some gardening... haha ya and the picture of the lady changing the tire.. thats a good story.. we walked out of a lesson and i saw the chicks changin the tire. i thought that would be a classy pic.. so of course i snapped a pic.. then from deep down in the core of my heart, came a wonderful idea to help the poor little sisters of God.... and their you have it.. ya and the cool part was she told us to come back the next week.. now thats missionary's in action!!!! haha, thats right.. service= the number one cure for anything.. o yes it was halloween last night.. its sad around these parts.. its too dangerous to have the little kids run around and trick or treat.. i didnt see one little pumpkin kid.. super sad day.. i was lookin forward to takin pics with the little rascles... bummer.. and as the sign says below.. people love Jesus, so no halloween.. i really dont know what the two have in common, but im thinkin they think they have a good reason.. haha wow barry write me back, hey you too jared... little punks. and happy birthday mama hanson, have a good one, i hope you chickens are doin just dandy...!! and also Aunt Barbara, have a super great day......emily good luck on the first one.. i heard it hurts really really really bad..... but once its out i heard it dosent hurt as bad.. haha love you take care.. really really..

changes passed by and im still in san francisco with elder baquiax.... cool beans. as you can see by the tie picture i had a little extra time this week... well my comp was shot down with the flu.. and we were stuck in the house for 2 days... so i got alittle creative... i also flew a kite on the roof... i got the sucker super high, you almost couldnt see it.. i got into flying kites, cuz here in guate, this time of the year is when everyone and their great grandma is flying kites.. thats why i gave into temptation and did it.... dont worry were back in business!! also, will you all stop what your doing right now, and look down at the picture of the very classy short bed 57 Chevy pick up... yellow edition.. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE...YOU DONT SEE THAT EVERY DAY... ESPECIALLY IN GUATEMALA......... i think that was the highlight of this year... (shout out to the old latino man who rocked that car last week.. word)!!

this was the famous real work miracle job!!! well, we pretty much just made a door in the middle of a wall..... we used a super huge grinder to cut it out... a huge grinder with a tiny extension cord... we burned that little cord right up... crazy chapines!!! haha the very bad angle video, is the final moment when i pushed the wall down with finger... ya i know, i still got it... haha..

well i just turned over the big 20 if you didnt remember.. i feel SO different.. its like i woke up a new man!! i cant put my feelings into words!!! i might have to start writing poetry!!! a very loving member gave me a present (as you can see in the pic).. the thing i coundnt figure out is, how she knew exactly what i wanted for my bday.... when i opened up the small beautiful package a warm feeling fell over me.. a feeling of hope, power, a bright future...Socks... she got me socks.... the most amazing gift you can give to a man... shout out to mama Irene!!! (she is the woman of the day)(the woman that knows it all)!!!....in other news.. we went to a wedding.. i ended up makin 70 tortillas for the big after party... i started getting pretty good at it.. and for the record i didnt drop one of em... the wedding went super smooth.. step by step the fam is gettin blessings.. they are all getting baptized next week also!! tuesday morning we went to the dentist for elder baquiax.. he had a whole bunch messed up in his mouth.. he had like a 4hr session lying down on that dentist chair.. they dentists are missionarys so my comp was blessed alot.. if they didnt catch him now he would have had to have a few root canals in the near future.. meanwhile back at the ranch.. while i was waiting, i made some friends (who would ev thought), after a while i talked him into practicing his teeth cleaning.. haha my teeth are clean!!!!!!! Did you people see the miners in Chile?? tough life 2 months under ground..but ya. spell check didnt work today.. sorry..till next week..

is their a reason why the stg. temple doesn't have a Moroni?? i finally got a letter back from sinjin today!!! it made my day a whole better!!!!! this week was intense ..we made a huge plan for the ward, to have more spiritual experiences with the BOM and help us out as missionary's.. we sang i am a child of God to people when we were contacting this week... some liked it.. some just looked at us really wierd... haha..

what an interesting week
this morning we went to mixco viejo.. its a old little pueblo where their are some ruins... ya "ruins".. i think they take that really lightly.. cuz i saw some guy making some.... But who knows.... the bus ride was fun on the way home.. elder johnson and i sat on top, cuz their was no room inside...!! last monday i cut my comps hair!! then i cut my own.. it turned out alright.. not too bad... hehe my first time solo... its a good thing we cut our hair, cuz on tuesday morning we got the message that we had to go to the office for interviews with pres...!! on the way to interviews, the bus driver i swear was training for nascar!! we had about a 5 car lead then we got a record 30 ft. skid mark.. Ive never seen anything like it.. it was magnificent... (im not speeding im just qualifying)on the way home, i had a drunk lady fall and roll in front of me.... it was kinda interesting... i looked at her for a sec.. then in disgust kept on walking... really weird... conference was super amazing, as i expected it to be!! us gringos watched it upstairs in the high priest room, in english of course... we laughed our heads off when uchtdorf said, what does this have to do with flying an airplane...haha the conference answered all my questions i had... i love conference... this week i rained alot... haha whats new.. but we had kind of a problem.. the problem was that the side walk is close to the river like road and the buses create waves.. so we had to play the game of survival.. we dodged, ducked, dove, dipped, and dodged!! it was a life changing experience.. stay tuned.... o ya.. during conference the baptismal font overflowed, thanks to the elders of the zone Florida!! life happends.. and fast... dont mess up.....(thats not really words of advice)....love ya all....

i lied to you people last week.. their is 3 Jehovah's in the bom... so look for one more...haha and just to let you know, the penny i found last week was lucky!! heads up!! the picture below with the little girl is funny, haha, she was putting candy in my mouth.. like a whole bunch!! haha i had to tell her to stop cuz i didnt have room and i was laughing hard... and the pic that says canche i love you.. that was written in the cement.. haha.. the other of when we were playing soccer in the rain.. it was raining super hard but it doesnt look like it... and the other of the liahona in the 70s when they were super little... but hey life is great.. the work is flowin alittle better.. we have alittle more support from the ward... shoot the pic of the little girl, for some reason will not attach... last night we were walking to a cita to eat dinner and.. a girl was trying to start her car.. and as you can guess she needed alittle man support.. so we did alittle service!! the amazing part was, right when we were done helping... i mean 5 seconds after... i found 5 Q's in the street!! instant blessings!!!!! wow!! conference is this weekend!!! i love conference!!! and saturday after conference we have a baptism!! and i also love baptisms !!! wow i am so blessed!! haha we have a new investigator named fabio!! fabio i think is the coolest name ever.. i might even name my kid fabio!!!i gotta whole bunch to write next week.. can you believe me!! hehe
